When Nicki Minaj dropped the single “Chun- Li” from her fourth studio album Queen in April, the idea of her being the “bad guy” of the music industry became inescapable in 2018. Tekashi 6ix9nine Comes To Silicon Valley and Continues To Rise Above His Controversies – http://www.techthisoutamerica.com/tekashi-6ix9nine-comes-to-silicon-valley-and-continues-to-rise-above-his-controversies/

Tekashi 6ix9ine had an incredible year when it comes to the commercial success of his music. Anything he dropped automatically charged on Billboard and it seemed like he was untouchable as he presented himself to be a gang affiliated leader in the rap game. His rise inevitably came crashing down when he got arrested on racketeering charges in November. The gangsta life the “FEFE” rapper was portraying on social media and his music was the cause of his demise and it’s still unclear how long 6ix9ine will be in prison.

Kanye West continues to be the biggest enigma in the mainstream space as his art and raw thoughts never leave the press. When Ye returned to Twitter in the beginning of this year fans were excited to see the thoughts of a visionary expressing the world needs more compassion and a new era of music was coming soon. The G.O.O.D Music leader orchestrated a month of releases in June. While the rollout for Nas, Kids See Ghosts, Teyana Taylor and Pusha T albums from was extremely messy, Ye knows how to create pop culture moments. I’m sure Hip Hop historians will study this YE era and whatever comes next from the Chicago native.
