Earlier this month the latest technology and trends were showcased at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Nevada and as the year rolls out prepare to purchase 8k TVs, improved smart assistants and even a rollable television. Sony held a strong press conference highlighting 2018’s achievements and the upcoming technology that will be available later this year. Tim Rothman, chairman of Sony Pictures Entertainment, and Rob Stringer, CEO of Sony discussed the success of the animated film Spider Man: Into The Spider-Verse and how their devices will upgrade consumers entertainment when it comes to music and movies.

Hip Hop continues to make an impact in the tech world, with one of the genre’s most influential innovators Pharrell joining the Sony stage to discuss his audio adventures in Tokyo. During his trip the “Happy” mogul got the opportunity to experience Sony’s latest audio technology and his reviews will definitely have audio heads eagerly anticipating what they will be able to create with the new technology when it reaches the states. The arrival of Sony’s 8k TVs were teased during the press conference. Interested parties will be able to purchase 85 and 98 inch models, enjoying astonishing quality alongside full-spec HDMI 2.1 inputs complete with 48Gbps capability.

Besides massive televisions, Sony also revealed a couple other beefed up devices coming soon. Music fans will enjoy the new Sony Extra Bass Bluetooth Speakers (complete with a small cup holder table). Movie enthusiasts that still buy blu-rays can upgrade to the X800M2 4K Blu-Ray player. While companies try to incorporate Amazon’s Alexa and smart assistants to devices, Sony decided to keep things simple with two ‘dumb’ sound bars that offer superior audio without the typical “smart” capabilities. Make sure you have your coins saved when all of these devices hit the market.
